Vice’s former Managing Director of TV (International), Tamara Howe, is to join Naked (a Fremantle label) as Director of Commercial and Operations.
Tamara will work closely with Managing Director Fatima Salaria to shape and deliver Naked’s strategic plans including leading on commercial business development.
Overseeing day-to-day operations, she will work across current and forthcoming shows including The Apprentice (BBC One), Snowflake Mountain (Netflix), Planet Sex (BBC Three and Hulu), The Rap Game (BBC Three), Grand Designs (Channel 4), Tonight with Target (BBC Three), Great Coastal Railways Journeys (BBC Two), Escape to The Country (BBC One), Trash Monsters (Channel 4) and The Love Triangle (E4).
The newly created role will also see Tamara develop the label’s culture and continue to build on her work nurturing and mentoring the next generation of TV creatives with a particular focus on diverse talent and production management.
As Managing Director at Vice TV, she was responsible for strategic direction, commercial operations and the daily management of its international TV business. Prior to that she was Chief Content Officer, EMEA, Vice Media.
Prior to her roles at Vice, Tamara was Controller of Business, BBC Comedy and Entertainment, where she helped shape the business strategies for the department’s transition to BBC Studios and worked across both indie and in-house productions including Strictly Come Dancing, Top Gear and The Apprentice.
Previously she was Controller of Productions, BBC Vision and Chief Operating Officer, BBC Children’s. She also worked as Head of Production and Finance at BBC Current Affairs.
Tamara also worked at LWT where she held several leadership roles including Head of Production for Factual and latterly Comedy and Entertainment. She went on to become Director of Production for LWT and United Productions.
Tamara has a keen interest in developing young, diverse talent and has held various charitable and non-exec roles including The Prince’s Trust, Ravensbourne University, MEWE 60 and the Edinburgh TV Festival, where she currently sits on the board of the foundation. With her roots in production management, Tamara is a passionate supporter of the drive to recognise, elevate and promote the profession.
