Family Fortunes, the iconic gameshow hosted by Gino D’Acampo, will soon return to screens with a brand-new 10 x 60 series. Produced by Thames (a Fremantle label), the latest revival of the much-loved show, has been commissioned for its fourth series for ITV1 and ITVX.
Having been on our screens since 1980, Family Fortunes is now a key fixture in ITV’s weekend prime time schedule with Gino’s hilarious and truly inimitable presenting style making for unmissable family fun. The game sees two families go head-to-head to name the most popular answer to survey-based questions posed to 100 people, with a chance to win a £30,000 jackpot. Through a series of rounds, contestants are put on the spot to think of answers quickly, often resulting in some unique and hilarious television moments.
Host, Gino D’Acampo said: “I had so much fun filming the last series of Family Fortunes, so I can’t wait to be back in the studio to film 10 new episodes. The contestants are at the heart of the show and the success of each series is really down to the wonderful families that take part. I’m looking forward to hearing all the interesting and silly answers – I have a feeling this series will be the best one yet.”
Charlie Irwin, Managing Director of Thames adds: “I’m so pleased to see Family Fortunes return for a new series, the show is such a joy to make, and I’m excited for the team to get started on the fourth series. We’re going to have fantastic families, incredible questions and I’m sure, even more outrageous answers – stay tuned!”
The series was commissioned by Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning and Joe Mace and Louise Major, Commissioning Editors for ITV. The series will be Executive Produced by Christopher Barbour and Series Produced by Aoife Bower for Thames.
