Channel 4 Talent Executive and the founder of TV Talent North, Victoria Roye, is to join Fremantle as Head of Talent.
Victoria brings a wealth of experience to the newly created role, including supporting the hire of Channel 4 commissioners in Leeds, Glasgow and Bristol and managing the off-screen talent strategy for Black to Front.
She will oversee freelance staffing across Fremantle with a focus on labels Thames, Talkback and Naked and will be integral in recruiting from the biggest and most diverse talent pool.
Based in Manchester and London, Victoria will continue to champion talent from across the UK. TV Talent North was the brainchild of Victoria and she set it up with the help of colleagues at Channel 4, the BBC, ITV, Viacom and 26 indies in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The group has grown to more than 6,000 members and 1500 jobs have been posted over the past year.
Prior to her role at Channel 4, Victoria was Talent Executive at BBC Studios working across entertainment, music and events shows including Strictly Come Dancing, Dragons Den, Eurovision, Comic Relief, Children in Need and Mastermind.
At Fremantle she will work on staffing for shows including The Apprentice, Britain’s Got Talent, Grand Designs, Eating With My Ex, The Rap Game UK and I Can See Your Voice.
Simon Andreae, CEO, Fremantle UK, said: “Victoria has an exceptional eye for the best of both experienced and emerging talent not just in London but right across the UK. She’s positive, passionate and will be a huge asset to all our production labels in seeking to secure, support and retain the most skilled and collaborative production teams in the business.”
Victoria Roye said: “I’m delighted to be joining Fremantle working across some of the biggest shows on television. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Channel 4 and my drive for diversity and inclusion will continue to be at the front and centre of all that I do in this new role.”
