GRAND DESIGNS: HOUSE OF THE YEAR RETURNS WITH A NEW SERIES ON CHANNEL 4

The search for Britain’s most extraordinary home is back, fronted by Kevin McCloud, Damion Burrows and Natasha Huq.

July 2025, London: Grand Designs: House of the Year is back with a new four-part series, airing this Autumn on Channel 4, following a new series of Grand Designs. Once again, the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) will open the doors to the most breathtaking, innovative homes across the UK, as they hunt for the architectural gem that will take home the coveted title.

Presented by the ever-curious Kevin McCloud, alongside architects Damion Burrows and Natasha Huq, the four-part series offers exclusive access to the finest contemporary homes, offering audiences a rare glimpse inside the country’s most cutting-edge architecture.

In each episode, viewers will journey through the homes on the prestigious RIBA shortlist, with the final episode unveiling the winner of the RIBA House of the Year 2025.

Kevin McCloud says: ‘This series celebrates, as ever, a sparkling range of what’s possible in domestic architecture today. So, it’s a great privilege to be able to help uncover these gems of creative imagination and of course it’s a complete joy to be back presenting House of the Year alongside Natasha and Damion.

Damion Burrows say: ‘I am thrilled to be back on the road with House of the Year. This series never fails to amaze me, from jaw-dropping designs to the personal stories behind the builds. It is always inspiring to meet the architects and homeowners who have worked so closely together, pouring their heart and soul into creating some truly original and groundbreaking homes.’

Natasha Huq says: ‘It is such a privilege to return for another series of House of the Year. These aren’t just impressive homes, they challenge how we think about space, materials and the care of our resources. There is something deeply inspiring about the way architecture can quietly transform how we think about the world and our place within it, and I am excited to share that with viewers again this year.’

John Comerford, Head of Naked West, a Fremantle label, and Executive Producer adds: ‘We are really delighted to be working with the RIBA once again to bring Grand Designs: House of the Year back to viewers. This series continues to offer an unparalleled look at the very best of contemporary British domestic architecture.’

Muyiwa Oki, RIBA President, adds: “We are excited to once again be partnering with Grand Designs to present House of the Year. It will be a privilege to see these exceptional homes, designed by our members and rigorously judged by RIBA awards juries, return to our screens. High-quality residential architecture can have a transformational impact on its users, communities and the environment, and I look forward to seeing Kevin, Damion and Natasha explore this throughout the series.”

House of the Year was commissioned by Ian Dunkley for Channel 4. The Executive Producer will be John Comerford for Naked West, a Fremantle label. The Series Producer will be Ned Williams for Naked West, a Fremantle label.
